About the Chef
Patricia Groth is the chef/owner and is a 1986 Culinary Institute of America graduate. She has been cooking for thirty years, starting in a little mountain cafe in Colorado. After graduating from school she went on to Campton Place Hotel where she worked under Bradley Ogden, then became chef at Bridge creek, a famous breakfast restaurant in Berkeley. Her last stint in San Francisco was at 565 Clay where she was the sous/pastry chef before she opened her first restaurant in Jacksonville, Oregon.With a partner she turned the 1865 McCully House Inn into what was considered to be one of the finer restaurants in southern Oregon. The inn was featured in Bon Appetit,Sunset, North-west Best Places and numerous local publications. She took a few years off after the birth of her son Adrian before embarking on her new venture, Morning Glory. Morning Glory is an award winning breakfast and lunch establishment with an above the ordinary menu. It has been featured in numerous reviews and articles including Sunset, Men’s Journal and ‘Let’s Go’ Travel Guide, to name a few. It is located in a converted 1926 craftsman bungalow and opened it’s doors in March of 1997. Everything is made in house from our smoked salmon and chicken to our pancake, waffle and muffin batters. Organic ingredients are used as much as possible. Some of the menu highlights include shrimp cakes with poached eggs and smoked tomato chutney and lemon ricotta french toast with raspberry syrup.
